Affiliations

First Baptist Church is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, The Kentucky Baptist Convention, and the Laurel River Baptist Association of churches.   Having these affiliations does not mean that First Baptist Church is controlled by these agencies. First Baptist Church is a fully autonomous church led by Christ with full decisional power vested in the church’s membership.  First Baptist Church affiliates itself with other churches of like doctrine and practice so we can share ministry tasks and encourage sister churches in the work of the ministry.  Through the Cooperative Program of the Southern Baptist Convention, First Baptist Church helps send over 10,000 missionaries throughout the world, supports Baptist colleges and seminaries, and meets needs of millions of needy people in the U.S. and the world.
